How Much Will This Cost?

How much will this cost?!

This is a very fair question.  Considering lawyer fees,  lost days work due to court appearances,  you are probably already overwhelmed with the expense of your legal situation.

I understand  this.

This is why I do offer payment options for all of my counselling services.

If you are unable to pay all costs at the first appointment,  you will be granted the opportunity to pay in instalments - how ever many you need - across the time of your counselling program.

All programs include one-on-one counselling sessions along with workbooks/sheets.

Rememberthis is a one-on-one counselling, not group counselling.  Group counselling is a completely different experience.  It is more impersonal, anxiety-provoking, and non-confidential (can you imagine meeting your neighbour or work colleague there!).  You will not have these issues in my one-on-one programs.

Courts prefer the thoroughness of individual one-on-one counselling.  This program will be given the greatest consideration in court over group programs.

I do offer a Sliding Scale Program for those that need it.  If you are of limited income,  please request a sliding scale assessment.  You will be required to show proof of income and expenses at the first meeting (pay/welfare stub, up-to-date bank statement, rental agreement).

*Without this documentation,  you will not be considered for the Sliding Scale Program.*

You Are Not a Criminal

Everyday, we make decisions.  It could be decisions about what we eat, what we wear, or what we watch on TV.  Some decisions are more serious than others.  Sometimes we make good decisions - and sometimes not.

If you make a bad choice which causes you to face court, does that make you a bad person?  A criminal?

NO!

You do have the right to start over - turn over a new leaf.

With an honest mind that takes responsibility for happened, and an honest desire to learn from your mistake and change who are,  you can move on from this situation.  You can redeem yourself.

Through rigorous and effective counselling programs,  you can have that opportunity to start.

As a past Probation and Parole Officer,  I have worked with real criminals - people who have no desire to understand their behaviour and no desire to change.  I have also worked with people who have simply made a bad decision - taken a wrong turn - and deeply want to start over.

If this sounds like you,  I am hear!

I have designed my programs have been designed for people just like you!  I will support you with empathy and respect at all times.  Never once will I treat you like a criminal.

As you walk into my program with an open and committed mind for change,  you will learn about why you did what you did and will develop tools to help you make sure this does not happen again.

You are not a criminal!

Start your journey of a new you by contacting me today.

Cheers,
S.

Distance Education Programs Available

Do you live in remote parts of Ontario and require court-ordered counselling, but there is no local counsellor available?

Perhaps you do shift-work and cannot find a steady day and time to meet for sessions.

Perhaps you are a business person who travels constantly and cannot commit to a regular counselling group or face-to-face counselling sessions?

If this describes your situation,  I have a court-accepted solution.

I provide my counselling sessions through Distance Education.  All that you require is a telephone, a computer, and a few hours a week.

We will meet regularly through the telephone (based on your schedule) to go through the modules of the counselling program.
I will email you the worksheets to complete (completed on your schedule) and you will send them back to me for assessment.  Feedback will be given to you by email.
Upon successful completion of the program,  you will receive your letter of completion.  This can sent by either email, Canada Post, can be picked up by either you or your legal representative at my office in central Mississauga, or hand delivered*.

Distance Education allows you to complete your court-ordered counselling on your schedule: at 3 am or as you sit on the aeroplane flying to your next meeting.

The majority of my counselling programs take 6-12 weeks to complete.  Through Distance Education,  you can speed up completion through an intensive track - allowing you, in some cases, to finish your program in up to half the time of the regular counselling programs.

The Distance Education programs have rolling start-dates.  Meaning:  you can begin the program at anytime!  No need to wait for the next enrolment period!  This saves you a significant amount of time!

My Distance Education program is highly credible.  Unlike 60 minute online counselling modules used by some counselling centres,  my program is thorough as we maintain direct telephone contact at all times, and you receive ongoing, personalised feedback through-out the program.  This is highly desirable to the courts as it lends credibility to your work and the letter of completion you present to court.

I am a highly respected practitioner of high-integrity counselling through-out Southern Ontario.

Cheers,
S.

*Hand delivery is within Mississauga boarders only.

Upon completion of the counselling,  you will also get a letter of completion which you will provide to your lawyer, Probation Offider, or directly to the court.

These letters are accepted the Provincial and Federal courts.

These letters are available at a nominal fee.

I do not provide fake or deceiving letters.  Even though I am a private practitioner,  I do find myself bound to a code of ethics through my governing counselling association.
